Kevin Sorenson

Kevin A. Sorenson (born November 3, 1958 in Killam, Alberta) is a Canadian politician.

Sorenson is currently a member of the Conservative Party of Canada in the Canadian House of Commons, representing the riding of Crowfoot since 2000. He has also been a member of the Canadian Alliance (2000-2003). He has served as the former Opposition critic to the Solicitor General, and of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness.

Sorenson is a former businessman and farmer, and is a strong advocate of genetically modified crops -- in particular, he has shown interest in the cultivation of tomatoes, which have been modified for growth in Canada's harsh climate.

Sorenson is currently the chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development and Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development.
