Kevin Owen

Kevin Owen is a Welsh television news presenter.

His early career included a spell presenting local news in the HTV West region and he also anchored Sky News. He is now a presenter with the TV channel, Russia Today.

Owen has led a varied and successful career as a TV newscaster and reporter in UK network and regional broadcasting for more than two decades. He was awarded a post-graduate diploma in broadcast journalism from Cardiff University, and launched his BBC career fronting the evening news programme ‘Wales Today.’

Before moving to Moscow to join Russia Today, 39-year-old Kevin was a regular face on Sky News in London, fronting weekend programmes and overnight ‘World News’ reports. He remembers being first to break tragic news of the Asian Tsunami at Christmas in 2004 and was on duty covering the death of the British Queen Mother and Pope John Paul II.

Away from the studio, Kevin spends his time with cars and tackling house renovation. He was born in Plymouth, his favourite colour is green and his favourite food is Thai.
