Kevin O'Leary (entrepreneur)

Kevin O'Leary (born 9 July 1954 in Montreal) is a Canadian entrepreneur and venture capitalist.

O'Leary founded SoftKey in his living room for $10,000 in 1983. He then acquired many of its rivals including Brøderbund and The Learning Company, whose name SoftKey then adopted, and in 1999 sold the company to Mattel for $3.7 billion.

Along with Amanda Lang, O'Leary co-hosts SqueezePlay on Report on Business Television. He also hosts a O'Leary Live, a call-in show on ROBTv, and is one of the venture capitalists on the Canadian version of Dragon's Den, which airs on CBC and CBC Newsworld.

He is on the board of directors of and serves in other capacities with several other companies and organizations.
