Kevin Dooley

For the Resident Evil character, see Kevin Dooley.

Kevin Dooley is a former editor at DC Comics. During his time there, he served as the assistant editor to Andy Hefler and took over much of Hefler's titles following his promotion. Dooley edited the various Green Lantern books and Aquaman. He also dabbled with writing comics, but was largely unsuccessful.

His most notable accomplishment during his time at DC Comics is also his most infamous; he was the editor responsible for Emerald Twilight, a story that warped the formerly heroic Green Lantern into a mass-murdering madman, so that the character could be replaced by a younger, hipper character. Dooley claimed this was because Green Lantern had become stale and boring. His tenure as editor of DC comic books (basically Green Lantern, Aquaman and Superboy) was the target of constant and strong criticism from fandom, leading to his 1999 decision to leave DC.
