Kevin Cameron

Kevin Cameron is an Australian music educator and conductor.

Born in Parramatta, he studied low brass and conducting at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. He has completed further postgraduate study at the University of Western Australia, Arizona State University, the Royal College of Music, and the University of Newcastle. Dr Cameron was the first Doctor of Philosophy candidate to graduate in Music from the University of Newcastle.

In 1994, Kevin Cameron was named the inaugural ABC Young Conductor of the Year. He subsequently has conducted many bands, orchestras, and choirs throughout Australia. As an adjudicator, he has adjudicated eisteddfodau and competitions in all Australian states and territories.

Dr Cameron is currently Director of Music at Pembroke School, Adelaide. He is also Music Director of the Pembroke Symphony Orchestra, the Pembroke Chamber Singers,the Pembroke Concert Band and the Unley Concert Band. Dr Cameron is Chair of the South Australian Chapter of Orchestras Australia, and Vice President of the South Australian Band Association.
