Kevin was introduced to acting at the age of thirteen, playing drummer Freddy Jones, in Paramount Pictures School Of Rock with Jack Black, in which the film opened at number one nationwide October 3, 2003. At the time, he was already an experienced drummer. He says he saw an ad that was looking for 9-11 year old drummers, and he didn't want to audition because he was 13, but his mom convinced him. After a few more trips for the auditions, including cities like Chicago and New York, he landed the role of Freddy Jones. Kevin was in a band before School Of Rock, called Blind, but whilst away filming, they replaced him with another drummer. His family was generally with him when shooting some parts.

With the factors that come with being in a movie, he has attended Toronto and L.A. Premieres of the film, as well as the 2004 MTV Movie Awards. With his castmates and Jack Black, he also appeared in The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, in September 26, 2003 as a musical guest. Kevin also had the pleasure to meet well known celebrities, among them The Osbournes, Fran Drescher, Weird Al, Quentin Tarantino, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, to name a few.

Whether he kept contact with the rest of his peers that he befriended when making the film, is unespecified (though likely they all have), but it is confirmed that he lost connection to one; Joey Gaydos Jr., who played the lead guitarist in School Of Rock, and seemed to get along greatly well with Clark as they were mostly seemed inseparable, spotted hanging together in the premieres and after parties, chatting, as well as being both the most talkative on the "Kids Kommentary" and interacting in the "Kids' Video Diary From The Toronto Film Festival" on School Of Rock's DVD special features. In his still active forum on his official website, joeygaydosjr.net, he has stated that he has long since lost contact with Kevin, even quoted to harbour a "dislike" for him.

For questions on Kevin's acting career, he has explicitly said that his next big project is to finish high school.
