Keven Scarpino

Keven Scarpino is a Cleveland/Akron, Ohio area entertainer best known for his late-night television horror host character The Son of Ghoul.

Inspired by Cleveland-area horror host The Ghoul (Ron Sweed), Scarpino won a Ghoul look-alike contest on The Ghoul Show and was dubbed the "Son of Ghoul" by Sweed. Scarpino set up a show on WOAC entitled "The Son of Ghoul Show" in Canton, Ohio in 1986. Sweed sued Scarpino in 1987 for infringing upon his character, but eventually lost the case. The judge ruled that no infringement occurred, as most horror show hosts portrayed the same basic character, a ghoulish individual who pranced about in costume, performed comedy routines, and showed horror movies.

"The Son of Ghoul Show" currently airs on tandem stations WAX-TV35 in Cleveland and WAOH-TV29 in Akron, OH (collectively known as "The CAT" for Cleveland/Akron Television Network). On those same stations, Scarpino also hosted a spin-off called "Son of Ghoul's House of Fun and Games" for 3 years between 2000-2002.
