Ketnet is the public station in Flanders that is there to provide an alternative to the violent commercial children programming on some other commercial broadcasters. This TV station is owned by the VRT. Amongst kids in Flanders and even The Netherlands it is the most popular channel because of its quality home grown programming and good foreign productions. The station broadcasts on the second public channel (shared with Canvas) till 8 PM.
