[edit] Wikipedia Article Types

A Good Article in Wikipedia is one that represents its topic well in that it is:

  • Well-written: Closely follows the Wikipedia Manual of Style where appropriate, has correct grammar and is easily readable.
  • Factually accurate and verifiable: Defines relevant technical jargon, is logical and unambiguous, and provides citatations and reputable references for material that may otherwise be debatable.
  • Broad in coverage: Gives a broad and reasonably thorough overview of the subject as well as not delving in to non-notable detail.
  • Is neutral: Avoids bias and gives weight to all significant viewpoints on the subject at hand.
  • Is stable: Does not change in content on a constant basis.
  • Contains images: Well-captioned images are used to illustrate key points where text alone may not be sufficient.

A Good Article is nominated by Wikipedia users as such.

A Featured Article is similar to a Good Article in that it held to the same high standards except that a Featured Article is one that is considerably reviewed. Also, an article is not considered a Featured Article until it has been "featured" on the Wikipedia home page.

[edit] Interests

I'm currently interested in atmospheric buoyancy and stability in the mesoscale. Although the atmosphere on "average" is stable everywhere, small-scale instability can drive a lot of severe weather phenomena. Also, I am interested in the tools and methodology behind assessing and forecastiong severe wether such as the Bulk Richardson number.
