Kerama Retto

The Kerama Retto consists of six inhabited and some twenty uninhabited islands grouped near one another and located about 30 km west of Naha, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan.
During World War II, Kerama Retto was captured by American forces in late March, 1945 and used as a staging area for the assault on Okinawa.
