Kenton Keith

Kenton Jermaine Keith (born July 14, 1980 in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA) is a running back for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League. He signed with the Roughriders in 2001. In the spring of 2004, he signed with the New York Jets of the National Football League, but never made the team, and returned to the CFL. Keith signed with the Indianapolis Colts early 2007.[1]

Keith grew up in the Omaha, Nebraska metro area where he played youth football for the KWAA Cowboys and coach Dave Harrill. Kenton, was twice named the MVP of the Council Bluffs Rams "Iowa Friendship Bowl." Kenton then went on to play football in North Omaha for the North Omaha B.E.A.R.S. for coach Mike Carter, amassing well over 2,200 yards rushing in a 9 game season as a junior high school student. Kenton played high school football at Omaha Benson High School averaging better than 11 yards per carry as a junior, & better than 13 yards per carry as a high school senior. Kenton then attended New Mexico State University. Kenton's father Percy Keith played collegiately at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (1976-1980), and briefly in the NFL. Kenton is the cousin of former NFL star Roger Craig.
