Kenton, Newcastle upon Tyne

Kenton is a suburb and electoral ward in the north west of Newcastle upon Tyne, England. It borders the Town Moor and is on the road towards Newcastle Airport.

The area is notable for the Kingston Park shopping centre as well as Kenton Comprehensive School, one of the largest schools in the UK with approximately 2000 students. The residents of Kenton tend to be working class and not as affluent as the residents of nearby Gosforth.

Kenton is served by the Tyne and Wear Metro, with stations at Kingston Park and Kenton Bank Foot. Nearby places include Fawdon and Blakelaw.
