Dion Holmes(born 10/24/1973) was a defensive end on the Houston Oilers and New York Giants. He was drafted in the first round of the 1997 NFL draft by the Houston Oilers and traded to the Giants in 2001. He never really lived up to expectations recording only 38.5 sacks in 7 NFL seasons. Holmes has done much for his hometown of Gifford, Florida. Every year he host a very large and successful community day at the Gifford Park. He has donated thousand to the local area, and continues to do so. Although no longer active in the NFL, he reaches out to scores of those less fortunate.
