Kennin-ji

Zuiryusan Kennin-ji (建仁寺 禅居庵 Kennin-ji?) is a Zen Buddhist temple in Kyoto, Japan. It is also known as Marishiten-dō (摩利支天堂 Marishiten-dō?). It is the head temple of the Sōtō school of Zen. The temple contains zen gardens, and is known for being the place where Zen Master Dōgen set out on the path, and where his remains are buried. It is located in the Gion area of Kyoto.
