The Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium is the main stadium for the State University of New York at Stony Brook in Stony Brook, New York, USA. Construction began in 2000 at a cost of approximately $22 million. With a capacity of approximately 8,300 people, it is the largest outdoor facility in Suffolk County. The stadium is home to the Division I Seawolves, including soccer, lacrosse, and football teams. The stadium opened on September 14, 2002. On October 19, 2002, it was officially named after Kenneth P. LaValle, the New York state senator who was instrumental in getting the legislative funding available for the construction of the stadium.
