Kenneth Fowler

Kenneth Fowler was born in a British Military Hospital in Germany, and comes from a family with over one hundred years military service to the Crown. He was a member of the Moreton in Marsh Army Cadet Detachment, becoming the Lord Lieutenant's cadet for Gloucestershire. He enlisted into the British army straight from school at the age of sixteen and after completing basic training at the Infantry Junior Leaders Battalion, Shorncliffe, Kent, he was posted to the 1st Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment. Following service in the United Kingdom, Gibraltar, Kenya, Denmark and Germany he temporarily left the Gloucestershire Regiment in Berlin and volunteered to serve in Northern Ireland, where he would spend every year from 1986 until 1990. Upon leaving the army in 1990 he joined the Warwickshire Constabulary and served in Nuneaton and Warwick. Although now an officer of the Warwickshire Police he volunteered for overseas police service and has served in the Balkans with the European Union Police Mission (EUPM), the NATO Peace Stabilization Force (SFOR) and the European Union Army (EUFOR). He is an acknowledged expert on United Kingdom War Memorials and in particular researching those fallen men & women who adorn them. His works todate include - The Moreton & Batsford War Memorial ISBN 0-907616-36-4 and in 2005 the highly acclaimed Warwickshire Roll of Honour ISBN 1-903607-63-9.
