Kenjirou Murai

Kenjirou Murai is a Japanese bass guitar player best known for his work in Cali≠Gari. He is an accomplished bass player capable of both fast and aggressive slap style playing or smooth jazz based lines. Kenjirou joined Cali≠Gari after leaving Eternal Flame in October of 1996. He plays on the majority of their albums and took an active role in songwriting. In January 2004, he officially joined the reformed Sex Machineguns under the alias "Samurai J. Kenjilaw".

Kenjirou uses a custom made ESP bass he calls the "Heavy Metal Soldier" bass[1]. He plays fretted and fretless versions of the bass. Also, he occasionally uses an AP/SWB upright electric bass or a 1964 Fender Jazz Bass. He most often uses Peavey bass amps.
