Kenilworth Town K H is an English association football club based in the town of Kenilworth. [edit] History
The club was founded in 1936 with a home pitch at St Johns Park. It started life in the Coventry & District League.
The club continued to play when possible during the war years but needed to find a more permanent home. This resulted in the club moving grounds five times between 1946 and 1962 before moving to their current Gypsy Lane home. During this period the club had home grounds at The Oval, St Johns Junior School, Scott Road, Thickthorn Manor and in the nearby town of Warwick.
During this period the club also changed its name, becoming Kenilworth Rangers. With the club now back in Kenilworth, this was changed to Kenilworth Town in 1992, with the "K H" added in 2005.
Kenilworth Town started the 2006 - 2007 season with a first team side in the Midland Football Combination Division One and a reserve team side in the Midland Football Combination Division Three. However, the first team was withdrawn from the league, leaving the former reserve side as the senior team at the club. The club has also undergone changes off the pitch during the 2006-2007 season, with a new management committee being appointed to run the club's affairs from the start of the 2007 season.
[edit] Ground
Kenilworth Town moved to their current Gypsy Lane home in 1962. The club initially leased the land before purchasing the freehold in the early 1990's.
Since purchasing the ground the club has made improvements to the ground. Floodlights have been installed and two new stands (one seated and one standing) have been built. The new stands were opened by Nigel Clough and were first used for a friendly against the Burton Albion side that he managed.
A new clubhouse is currently under construction. The building work has been completed and fundraising is under way to complete the project.
