Ken Matthews

Ken Matthews is a character in the Sweet Valley High book series.

Ken was the all-American star quarterback of the Gladiators, the Sweet Valley football team. He was close friends with Todd Wilkins and Winston Egbert. He had been a target of very nasty rumors spread by Lila Fowler about a crush he had on Nora Dalton, the French teacher.
His first romantic rendezvous was with cheerleader Amy Sutton. She dumped him after a car crash which left him temporarily blinded (and unable to play football) and he started seeing football manager Terri Adams, who was less superficial and genuinely liked him.
He dated both Wakefield twins; embarking on a secret fling with Elizabeth after Todd moved to Vermont and later engaging in a serious relationship with Jessica, who left him for another guy.
Most tragically, his relationship with Olivia Davidson was cut short when she was killed in the earthquake.
During Senior Year he dated Maria Slater and, very briefly, Melissa Fox.
