Kempley

Kempley is a village in Gloucestershire, United Kingdom.

It is notable for its church, St. Mary's, the oldest wooden-beamed church in the world (11th century), which contains the Christ in Majesty painting created in about 1120 also a fresco of a wheel of life, showing the activities of medieval peasants throughout the year, painted on the wall of the nave. The churchyard is very beautiful in the early months of the year often being covered in daffodils in late February/early March.
