[edit] Warning Removal

Your talk page is intended to serve as a place to discuss your contributions. It ends up being a sort of a history of the work you've done and the conflicts you've been in, or the praise you've received. It's alright to archive comments or warnings, but blanking your talk page is not considered acceptable, as it is not yours. Please read WP:USERPAGE and WP:TALK. Please instead contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, and please don't continue to blank other users' comments. -Kukini 06:22, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Didn't know I shouldn't blank my talk page...?--Kelly Kohnen 06:22, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Regarding user talk pages, it is best to not delete notices on talk pages, but instead, to archive them. You will find how to do this here [1], under "When pages get too long." Actively erasing non-harassing personal messages is often interpreted as hostile. Hopefully this info will help...i will follow with good welcome links to help you in the future.--Kukini 06:26, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
Ah ha... things have changed a bit from my last activity in spring '06. I've responded to the posts by subwayguy on his talk page - so deletion should not be seen as hostile? And as per the link you've referred me to (under the Etiquette section), this now means I am free to remove his posts, without insult. I have done three major articles in the past, discussed them, and removed old posts. In any case, thank you for the advice. --Kelly Kohnen 06:33, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
Kelly, it is still best practice to archive them instead of deleting them. I would be happy to help you create archives, if you like. You may visit mine if you would like an example: [2] --Kukini 06:37, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
Would you prefer I pull old, deleted comments back on the page before archiving then?--Kelly Kohnen 06:43, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
I will leave you at peace...I was only concerned because we have had a rash of editors getting notices and then deleting them in an effort to hide the responses they have had from other editors and administrators. I understand your desire to keep a clean talk page. I just thought you might want to know that there is a contingent of us who really would prefer to see editors clean off talk pages with archives, particularly any notices (such as prod notices). I see you are doing good work overall and hope that I have not offended you. Best, Kukini 06:47, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
I've begun creating an archive page... seems better practice than to have people refer to deletion history. I've taken no offence, and appreciate your desire to maintain organization among the many users. Happy holidays! --Kelly Kohnen 06:54, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
Your response is classy and professional. Thank you. --Kukini 06:56, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
