[edit] Cab Calloway School of the Arts
A friend and I, both students at Cab, have been working on the article this afternoon. We threw in a section on nicknames and student culture, based on the decision that they are acceptable on WP because they are part of the culture. If you do not agree, please let me know so we can dialogue and decide what is best for Wikipedia. I have found nothing to dissuade me in WP: NOT, but perhaps your obviously greater familiarity with WP can shed some light on my perceptions? I look forward to hearing from you.
-Jim, 11th Grade, Cab Calloway School
- Hello Jim. It's nice to meet you, I am a senior at Charter. The reason that that information is not relevant on WP is because, though it is part of Cab culture, it would not be useful to anyone that does not attend your school (or otherwise know your teachers). Think of a real encyclopedia. You would never find info like this in it; the cultural portion of an article should be about how an organization's members relate to members of other organizations. If there is a tradition in Cab theater that somehow carries out into its performances (which are seen be people across Delaware, not just students and parents), then that may be relevant. But the nicknames of a teacher or technical instrument are not. I hope this makes sense to you. I know how frustrating it can be to put a lot of work into writing something only to have it deleted, but I hope that this experience does not turn you off from editing more articles in the future. By the way, if you want to read some school articles that are excellently written, see Stuy, TJHSST or Charter School of Wilmington (only excellent by my opinions, not by consensus). --ʀ6ʍɑʏ89 02:08, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
