[edit] Image

I would suggest reverting back to the public domain Image:Kelly Hu Head.jpg (or any other PD image of Hu). "Fair use" is something one is supposed to justify, and I don't see the reason to take a legal risk, if we have a public domain source. Note: I have no objection to the actual image (Image:Kelhu.jpg), it actually looks better than the PD one, and would happily use it, if it was PD; and further I have no objection to "fair use", if it's the only option. Also note, that the tag "promophoto" (used in Image:Kelhu.jpg) is wrong, it's not from a known source (none is stated) and it's not a promo photo. --rob 22:33, 18 August 2005 (UTC)

Another image Image:Kelly Hu0001.jpg was used, and I took it out, and nominated it for deletion. It claimed to be public-domain, but it clearly is not. --rob 04:31, 23 October 2005 (UTC)

I was messing around with an image I thought might be PD, but decided not to bother and replaced back the old picture.Sorrowek 07:35, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] public domain image

The public domain image in this article, may not be replaced by a fairuse image, per WP:FAIR. If anybody does not like the image, please find a better *free* image. --Rob 02:47, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ethnicity

The article currently states that Kelly is Asian-American, a statement contradicted by the fact (stated later) that she is Chinese/Hawaiian/English. I'm truncating it to "American", and it should stay that way until and unless a better phrase or justification for the old one appears. 128.12.186.192 08:34, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

That is the way it should stay, period. Please refer to WP:MOSBIO, specifically "opening paragraph, section #3". Thanks! --Tom 12:12, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Does Eurasian American work better? She is a Hawaiian but people group us Asians and Island Pacificers together anyway. Azn Clayjar 07:16, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

No. Look a few lines up. Period means period, end of story, bye bye. --Tom 12:51, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Nationality edits

One user is going around to a lot of articles and edits articles towards a bias. I concur with the recent revert prior to this post. Morenooso 04:07, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Nationality

Per WP:MOSBIO#Opening paragraph #3 a biography should give Nationality. Removing this should be considered vandalism and users should be warned accordingly. --After Midnight 0001 04:18, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

In Hu's article, being an American of mixed descent is very notable as she has played roles that draw upon this background. --Morenooso 04:27, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
You know, I always say this when I get an argument like that: If you have a good reason for putting ethnicity in the header, then put that reason into the header! (Rather than the ethnicity). "Asian American actress" doesn't tell me that Hu's "mixed descent is very notable as she has played roles that draw upon this background". A sentence that says "Hu has played roles that draw upon her Eurasian background" in the header, on the other hand, does. If this is verifiable and sourceable, that is.
