- Given that Kelli, rather than her partner Rosie, is the one primarily responsible for R Family Vacations (she alone is listed as co-founder on its website), which was recently featured in a broadly-marked documentary film, I've made this back into a standalone article.WikiGnome 16:32, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
This page was nominated to be remove and a consensus was that it would not be deleted. I am asking for a consensus that O'Donnell be removed from Kelli Carpenter-O'Donnell name because as a consensus by society at this time does not recognize same-sex marriage. I am asking for a consensus that it written in this profile "The O'Donnell family resides" that it be edited to "The O'Donnell - Carpenter Family" takes it's place since the laws do not allow same-sex marriage at this time.
I vote against the consensus on the O'Donnell name removal. I also request that the part about Donald Trump's genitalia be removed, unless someone can provide a reliable source.
I voted to remove "O'Donnell" from Kelli's name sense the LAW DOES NOT ALLOW SAME SEX-MARRIAGE AND THAT SHE HAS NOT HAD HER NAME LEGALLY CHANGED through the court system. I don't think a 'popular vote' changes these facts.
- Do we know that she hasn't? WikiGnome 13:08, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
Stage names are acceptable for Wikipedia articles as well as other names that haven't legally been changed. If she refers to herself as Kelli O'Donnell (which it appears she does) then it wouldn't make sense to remove it from the page.
I disagree. Ms. Carpenter was not adding the name'O'Donnell' because she was using it as a staged name. Here intention on changing her name was because she believe that she was legally married. Which she was not and until the law is changed or that she goes the legal channels to change her name then her name legally has to remain Kelli Carpenter. In addition, liberals have the knack for redefining words in order to pursue their agenda
- Dude, I said it once and I'll say it again. All other points aside, how do you know she hasn't changed her name legally? Did you ask her?WikiGnome 22:13, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
Well, how do you know she has? Do you wish to make the change on an assumtion? Look, if I may be blunt, liberals have the habit of 'redefining' the meaning of words in order to realign - redirect it to fit their agenda. Until there is proof that she changed it legally, then I would think we should not assume it.
See here and here. She does use the last name O'Donnell, as does the family. WikiGnome 12:10, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
Subscript text
Unless you can provide evidence that she has NOT legally changed her name, as gnome pointed out, since she publicly uses the surname O'Donnell it seems more than enough reason to have her name listed as Kelly O'Donnell (born Kelly Carpenter). Since you insist that it not be listed as O'donnell because gay marriage isn't legal, than it should be treated as a stage name.
