Kelly Robert Pavlik (born April 4, 1982 in Youngstown, OH) is a boxer in the Middleweight division. Known as "The Ghost", Kelly Pavlik grew up on Youngstown's south side and graduated from Lowellville High School and Mahoning County Joint Vocational School in 2000. After a long amateur career, he signed with Bob Arum's Top Rank Boxing. He's managed by Jack Loew of Youngstown's South Side Boxing Gym.

[edit] Professional career

Pavlik turned pro in 2000 and remains undefeated. His record includes an impressive 27 wins by way of KO. On October 7, 2005, Pavlik won the then vacant NABF Middleweight Title belt by beating Fulgencio Zuniga by way of TKO 9[1]. His recent fights include a successful title defense against former Light Middleweight Title holder Bronco McKart. Pavlik successfully defended his title on January 27, 2007, against Mexican Jose Luis Zertuche (19-4-2)[2]. The fight was shown live, on the HBO presentation Boxing After Dark.

Kelly Pavlik will fight Middleweight Boxer Edison Miranda on May 19th 2007 for a Middleweight title shot against Jermain Taylor, or Cory Spinks. This fight will be on the undercard to the Jermain Taylor/Cory Spinks bout in Memphis. You can watch this fight on HBO's Boxing After Dark.
