Kelly Ludlow, as portrayed by Ever Carradine, is the fictional White House Press Secretary on the ABC television series Commander in Chief.

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Ludlow was born in Santa Barbara, California. She attended Princeton University, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

When Mackenzie Allen served as Vice President, Ludlow served as her speechwriter. The two are apparently close and used to have lunch together once a week before Allen assumed the presidency.

When Allen decided to resign from office instead of becoming president, she asked Ludlow and aide Vince Taylor to draft her resignation speech.

Allen's first act in office was to use United States Marines to rescue a Nigerian woman who was to be put to death under Nigeria's sharia law. When questioned about how Allen came to this decision, President Teddy Bridges's press secretary, Hale Richardson, suggested that Allen was required under the War Powers Act to consult with Congress before engaging in such an action. This obvious questioning of President Allen's decision-making lead White House chief of staff Jim Gardner to ask for Richardson's resignation. Allen decided to make Ludlow the new press secretary, despite the fact that Ludlow's background is in speechwriting, citing the importance of having a staunch Allen-supporter at the podium.
