KCAA

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

KCAA is a talk radio station licensed to Loma Linda, California, USA. The 1,400-watt station broadcasts at 1050 on the AM dial. KCAA can be heard in California's Inland Empire, parts of Orange County, and Palm Springs.

KCAA's most popular program is Imus in the Morning, which is played on a three-hour delay. It is the only outlet in Southern California to broadcast Imus' show. KCAA had carried programming from Air America Radio, one hour each per weekday of Al Franken and Randi Rhodes, for the past two years. However, as of 2006, that programming has been displaced by local talk.

KCAA has a fair amount of local programming, the most prominent being Talk Back, hosted by longtime broadcaster George Putnam and syndicated from KCAA by the Cable Radio Network. The station also recently signed Roseanne Barr to host a daily show on the station, and the station also has its own local mid-morning program, The AM Show.

The station's slogan is "No listener left behind." The station relies on Solutions Broadcast Group to conduct surveys for the station, which claims that 98,000 listeners during the period when Imus is on. [1]

Due to licensing restrictions, KCAA is only heard during daylight hours. The station has applied to operate at night at 35 watts. Currently its daytime power is 1,400 watts. [2] The station also, however, streams on the Internet 24/7.
