KBTV-TV is the NBC affiliate serving the Beaumont / Port Arthur, Texas market. It is licensed to Port Arthur. Its studios are in Beaumont with an office in Port Arthur.
It began in 1957 is KPAC, owned by the Jefferson Amusement Company. It later changed call letters to KJAC and then the present KBTV-TV.
The station was the first in the area to broadcast in color, use video tape, and air live coverage of area high school football games.
Among the original programming that originated at KBTV's studios were wrestling and the Circle 4 Club.
The Station is unique because it broadcasts out of Parkdale Mall located in Beaumont Texas.
