KBTQ-FM

KBTQ is a Spanish Oldies outlet serving the Rio Grande Valley. They are owned by Univision and its COL is Harlingen, Texas. The station operates at 96.1 MHz with an effective radiated power of 100 kW.

KBTQ was originally a Tejano station until 2002 when they flipped to Rhythmic Top 40. But then in 2004 KBFM switched from Mainstream Top 40 to Rhythmic Top 40, thus sparking a Rhythmic war in the Valley. On October 17, 2005 they bowed out and switched to its current format.
