IMDb profile

Kazaam is a 1996 film produced by Touchstone Pictures/PolyGram Filmed Entertainment and starring Shaquille O'Neal and Francis Capra. It was lambasted by critics early on and has continued to be known as a notoriously bad film.

The plot revolves around troubled youth Max (Capra) and the consequences of accidentally releasing Kazaam (a rapping genie) from a boombox (as opposed to the more conventional "magic lamp"). Max and Kazaam use one another to achieve their aims: Max seeks to reunite with his absentee father, and Kazaam seeks to escape his existence as a genie and become a djinn.
