Kayleigh Morton, played by Jessica Barden, is a fictional character on the soap opera Coronation Street.
Kayleigh arrived on coronation street on 18th March 2007 with her dad, grandad and siblings Jodie, mel and darryl. Her family were giving their neighbours headaces after just a few hours on the street with their loud music.
Kayleigh appears to be a con artist. Her and her grandad went to the corner shop and he went in first and paid with a 20 pound note with a blue flower drawn on. Kayleigh went in after and paid with a fiver. She told Dev Alahan that she had paid with a 20 but he didn't belive her. She discribed the money and he checked and found it did have a flower on. He appologised and gave her her 15 pounds chance. When her dad Jerry found out he wasn't impressed and took her phon eof her and said she could have it back when he had bought Dev 15 pounds worth of drinks and when she had done three shifts in the take away he owened.
On her first day at weatherfeild High Sophie Webster and Chesney Battersby-Brown told her abou the teachers ans Sophie told Kayleigh how the teachers would take her rings of her. Instead of going to school she went home and when Jerry found her he asked why she wasn't at school. After an argument enthused and Kayleigh snapped that she wished she could go back and live with her mum.
Relising he couldn'k keep her with him against her will, Jerry was forced to agree to Kayleighs wishes and phoned Trerasa. Kayleigh was delighted to be goung back to her mums but it was clear that Jerry was devasted. Kayleigh went away a day later.
However on her first visit to her dad, Jodie noticed the way she woolfed down her breakfast and how she kept asking her for money. It turned ou that Teresa had gone on holiday and left Kayleigh to look after her six year old brothe Finlay whilst she was away, Jerry wasn't aware of this when he took Kayleigh home but he was suspisios about why she wouldn't tell him anyting othe than everyting was 'sound'.
