The Kawasaki ZXR 250 is a 249cc in-line four cylinder four-stroke Kawasaki "Supersport" motorcycle, capable in standard form of speeds of over 125 mph (200 km/h). The ZXR 250 was introduced in 1989, and a refined version were released in 1991 remained unchanged for long years to its last production run in 1999. Design, engine, braking and suspension have been influenced by technology developed for the ZXR 750 and have resulted in a small motorcycle of prodigious acceleration, stability and reliability.

Even when the "baby ninja" is the result of a 750 copy, back in 1991 Kawasaki revamped the ZXR 250 without two headlights separate from each other, side by side, but the old design remained in the bigger 750 until 1996.
