Kawasaki 1300
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Kawasaki 1300 is a water cooled 6-cylinder 1300cc Kawasaki motorcycle that was manufactured between 1979 and 1989. There were a few different models referred to as a Z1300, KZ1300, ZG1300 and ZN1300. Originally planned as a racer it was turned into a tourer before presentation in 1978.
Due to its high weight and the high purchase price as well as the high fuel-consumption these modell did not sell that well, especially not in Europe. Despite all of that the Z1300 turned into o modern myth, mainly due to its well-running engine. During the 10 years when it was sold the modell was switched for carburatos to electronic ful-injection. In the US the modell was equipped with windshield and suitcase adn was named "Voyager". The last 200 models, built in 1989, have been called Legendary Six and were equpped with a special logo on the fule tank to show that to the public.
The rarity of that modell today creates a lot of its fascination; many owners did organize themseelves in clubs or interest-groups to keep that modell alivce and running
