Kavousi is a historic villages in the municipality of Ierapetra in Lasithi perfecture on Crete. It is situated 19 kilometers north-east of Ierapetra, 26 of Agios Nikolaos and 42 kilometers of Sitia. It is built north west of Thripti mountain. In Kavousi many ancient minoan sites and hamlets have been found, among which Azorias. Kavousi lies just 2 kilometers from Tholos beach. The village has a magnificent view over Mirabello bay and the Ierapetra plain.
