Kaunas University of Medicine is a medical school in Kaunas, Lithuania. It was founded in 1919 and from 1922 a Faculty of Medicine of University of Lithuania, later .
From 1950, after closure of Kaunas University it was reformed int separate institution and until 1998 was called 'Kaunas Medical Institute.
It has its present name since 1998. University has five faculties (medical, pharmacological, odontological, nursing, and social health) and four research institutes and uses the Kaunas University Hospital as a teaching hospital.
