I dont understand the opening line: "Kat Fletcher is the current president of the UK National Union of Students, the first to stand on a united left slate on politics clearly to the left of Labour Students, who have held the position for most of the past twenty years."

Are you saying she's "to the left" of Mandy Telford? Is that possible? 199.172.169.17 07:45, 13 September 2005 (UTC)

  •  :) I believe it may just be possible. Whether she's still to the left of NOLS is a different question. Warofdreams 11:04, 13 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] The Smugness of her face

I edited this page added, the correct assursion that she is well known for having a smug face. This is true, why are my edits being reverted?--Kat fletchers smug face 17:48, 19 November 2005 (UTC)

Your additions are nonsense and vandalism. Stop adding them. —Cleared as filed. 17:49, 19 November 2005 (UTC)
Have you ever even seen Kat Fletcher?!--Kat fletchers smug face 17:54, 19 November 2005 (UTC)
How about a comprimise, would you be happy if the sentence was re-writern to read, "Kat Fletcher is generally considered to have a smug face by all those who have actually seen her."?--Kat fletchers smug face 17:56, 19 November 2005 (UTC)
  • As smug as her face may be, it's not something that has been widely remarked upon, so it's not a useful addition to the article. Warofdreams talk 23:40, 19 November 2005 (UTC)

According to Wikipeida's NPOV policy, differnent points of view should be covered. According to many reports (see [1], [2], [clients.voltuum.com/rawcarrot/?feed=rss2]). She has a smug face. Why is this point of view being suppressed?--Kat Fletchers smug bottom 13:33, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

Two of those sources are discussion boards, which are not suitable sources, the other merely claims that she has a "smug narrative tone". And you are a sockpuppet of a banned user. Warofdreams talk 14:18, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
And even if it is true, that doesn't make it encyclopedic, as it is irrelevant to whatever makes Fletcher Notable. Paulleake 14:30, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Removal of Right Wing Mentions

It is not widely accepted that Kat Fletcher has moved to the right - indeed only one political organisation has suggested this - ENS.

I have therefore amended this and referred to the recent BBC Question Time programme where she was far from right wing and spent half the show slagging off the Tories.

Thanks

[edit] Kat's Political Views

Does anyone find it incredibly worrying that the Head of the National Union of Students is a Trotsky lunatic?

I find it worring that anyone might actually think that she is left-wing, has she actually mobalised any campaigns at all?--JK the unwise 18:01, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

Did you watch her on Question Time? Just checked your profile JK - you label yourself a "Marxist". Clearly Kat Fletcher isn't quite far enough to the lunatic left for you.

Unfortunately these left wing nutters seem to have saturated student politics. We need a return of the small c(onservative) right.

Oh yeah, a Daily Mail reader as President would make the NUS respectable again... laughable! The position is just used as a stepping stone by wannabe politicians who care more about the furthering of their own careers than any kind of political standing. A description indicative of many politicians, I agree, but one that is no less than correct. Spuderoony 01:46, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
