[edit] Team History

When the NIFL Katy Copperheads (now Texas Copperheads of the af2) left town, Brandon Smith, owner of Allegiance Pro Sports, announced that he would bring an Intense Football League expansion team to Katy in 2007. In November 2006, they introduced the name and face of the new team. The team's name was chosen in a contest. The winner was Anthony Borjas, a 16-year old who attended Seven Lakes High School with his name "Ruff Riders".
