Katu was a fictional character who first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #300.

He was a member of the Acolytes, a fanatical group of mutants. In the earlier issues of Cable vol. 2, , it was established that he is a long-hated enemy of Omega Red, who had in the past murdered Katu's entire family.
Katu has not been seen after Cassandra Nova's Sentinel destroyed Genosha, killing 16 million mutants. Though nothing has been proven or officially stated, Katu may have been one of the millions of mutants who died during this assault. If this is the case, then his death occurred off-panel.
He may also have been among the majority of mutants who lost their powers after the House of M storyline, should he have survived the assault on Genosha.

He had limited weather control powers and could absorb electromagnetic fields and release them as blasts from his cybernetic arms.
