This article is about the Japanese city in Fukui Prefecture. There are two towns in Japan with the same name, see Katsuyama, Fukuoka and Katsuyama, Okayama.
Katsuyama (勝山市; -shi) is a city located in Fukui, Japan.
As of October 1, 2005, the city has an estimated population of 26,961 and the density of 106.28 persons per km². The total area is 253.68 km².
The city was founded on September 1, 1954.
Katsuyama was the ninth-best ranking city in a ranking that compared health and sanitation in cities around the world published in April 2007.[1]
