Katori, Chiba

Katori (香取市; -shi) is a city located in Chiba, Japan.
It was formed from the merger on March 27, 2006 of the city of Sawara and the towns of Omigawa, Yamada and Kurimoto from Katori District.
As of June 1, 2006, the city has an estimated population of 86,782. The area is 262.31km².
