Katie Liu Leung (Simplified Chinese: 梁佩诗; Traditional Chinese: 梁佩詩; pinyin: Liáng Pèishī), born August 8, 1987, is a Chinese-Scottish actress, most famous for playing Cho Chang, Harry Potter's love interest in the film version of the J. K. Rowling novel Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, released in theatres on 18 November 2005.

Leung was born in Scotland. Her parents are divorced and she currently resides with her father, Peter Leung (a native of Hong Kong) and two brothers (one named Jonathan). [1] Leung attended Hamilton College, a Scottish private school in Hamilton.

Leung's father saw an advertisement for a casting call and suggested she try out. She waited for a total of four hours before she got in. Her audition only took five minutes and she heard nothing further for two weeks, she was then called for a workshop and thereafter got the part of Cho Chang. She was selected for the role of Cho Chang after beating 3972 other girls (including actress Courtney Webb) in an open call audition in London for girls of East Asian appearance. She claimed in an interview with the Daily Record that her Scottish accent probably gave her an edge in the casting room by making her stand out.

Daniel Radcliffe, the actor playing Harry Potter, noted that he found Leung to be "awesome" and a "really amazing actress." Currently, Leung is set to act in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, for which she has delayed plans to go to art college and study at university.

In the latest installment of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Katie Leung's character, Cho Chang, shares an on-screen kiss with fellow co-star Daniel Radcliffe's character, Harry Potter.
