Kathy Mershon (born Kate Martin) is a fiction character on the soap opera, All My Children. She has been portrayed on a recurring basis by Alexa Gerasimovich from December 26, 2006, to the present.

Kathy Mershon was the adopted daughter of the late Jim and Linda Mershon, friends of Julia Santos from her time in the Witness Protection Program. Kathy was orphaned when the three of them were in car accident outside of Pine Valley.
Kathy was taking in by James "Jamie" Martin and Julia Santos. She currently lives with them at Wildwind along with Diana "Di" Henry, Delbert "Del" Henry, Aidan Devane, Amanda Dillon, Jonathan Lavery, Annie McDermott and best friend Emma McDermott.

Unknown to everyone is that Kathy was born as Kate Martin, the only living child of Tad Martin and Dixie Cooney. Tad and Dixie previously had another child Bess Martin who was miscarried years eariler. She was born somewhere in Europe and given up for adoption when Dixie was made to believe that she would not make though the car crash by Dr. Gregory Madden.
Tad Martin is currently still searching for his daughter, he has no idea that his son James "Jamie" Martin is raising her with girlfriend Julia Santos. Kathy/Kate has two biological living half-siblings. Dixie's son Adam "JR" Chandler Jr. and James "Jamie" Martin. Tad is also currently expecting a daughter with Krystal Carey Chandler.
