Kathy Corey is a Master Teacher of the Pilates method with nearly 30 years of experience.
Only a handful pf people the world over have studied the method of Joseph Pilates for such a length of time.
Kathy began her career with the Pilates Technique in 1979 and is the founder of the West Coast Pilates method of instruction. Her in-depth study and knowledge of the method gave her the opportunity to sculpt her unique teaching style and develop her world renowned programs.

Corey worked as the Publicity Director and feature writer for the Institute for the Pilates Method. She studied with and interviewed the original Master Teachers who taught with Joseph and Clara Pilates in their New York studio. Their influence is the foundation for the outstanding programs she presents today.

In 2004, Corey designed the innovative CORE Band, a Pilates based exercise prop that has been featured in Pilates Style Magazine and is being taught in studios around the world.

Corey is also a writer, and her career began as the fitness professional for the Los Angeles Times Syndicate with her international syndicated column "Body Lessons". The column appeared weekly across the United States as well as in seven countries. Her fifth book, Total Core Fitness, (Barron�s Books 2006) blends Pilates with other fitness regimens.

Kathy Corey has been an active member and leader in the Pilates community for over a quarter of a century and is devoted to maintaining the integrity of the method. She currently travels worldwide teaching workshops, training and certifying teachers and giving seminars on the benefits of Pilates for the body, mind and spirit.
