Kathleen Lynch (performer)

Kathleen Lynch (also known as Kathleen) is an American dancer and performance artist, best known as American punk band Butthole Surfers' "naked dancer" from 1986-1989. However, she was never officially part of the band.
Lynch reportedly had extreme control over her bodily functions, and could urinate or defecate on command. Prior to joining the Surfers, she worked at a strip club called Sex World in New York, New York. On her first night at the club, Lynch was assigned to a glass-enclosed booth where she was to perform erotic dance moves for customers. Instead, Lynch bent over, sprayed the glass with diarrhea, and said, "Ta-da!" Rather than terminate her employment, Sex World began marketing her as "The Shit Lady," also known as "Ta-Da the Shit Lady."[1]
In 1988, Lynch and the Butthole Surfers appeared in Bar-B-Que Movie, a short Super 8 movie directed by actor/filmmaker Alex Winter.[2] A spoof of 1974's The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, the film ends with a music video-style performance of the song "Fast" (a.k.a. "Fart Song"), featuring Gibby Haynes, Paul Leary, King Coffey, Teresa Nervosa, and Jeff Pinkus, as well as Lynch. It also displayed many of the band's stage gimmicks, such as the burning cymbal, strobe lights, films, and smoke.[3]
