Kathleen Brown

Kathleen Brown (b.15th October 1946) is Democratic politician from California. She is the daughter of former Governor Pat Brown and the sister of California Attorney General Jerry Brown (also a former Governor of California).
Brown is an attorney and was first elected to the Los Angeles City Board of Education in 1975, and reelected in 1979. She was elected California State Treasurer in 1990.
Brown unsuccessfully tried to be the third member of the Brown family to serve as governor, but was defeated by incumbent Republican Governor Pete Wilson (who had previously defeated Jerry Brown for one of California's US Senate seats in 1982) in the 1994 gubernatorial election.
She currently serves as Senior Advisor with responsibility for Public Finance, Western Region for Goldman Sachs.
Brown is a graduate of Stanford University and Fordham University School of Law. She is married to Van Gordon Sauter, at one time President of CBS News, and they have five grown children.
