Kathgodam

Kathgodam is the place in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand state of India.It is the part of twin township of Haldwani -Kathgodam. Kathgodam is the last railway station for entering in the Himalayan state.From this place uphill journey to Himalayan Mountains starts.This place is near to Himalayan tourist destinations like Nainital, Bhimtal and Sattal,etc. Kathgodam is situated on the banks of the Gaula river. Mountain roads to Almora , Nainital and Bhimtal.
Kathgodam happens to have few world- class schools. Nirmala Convent High School is one such school. Kathgodam is one of the most picturesque locations situated in the foothills of Kumaon. Situated close to Kathgodam are beautiful temples called 'Sheetla devi' and 'Kalichaud' which attract large number of devotees from the sorrounding region during festivals.
