Katerina Jebb

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Katerina Jebb is a UK photographer who is best known for providing the cover artwork to the Douglas Coupland book, Girlfriend in a Coma and the Tori Amos album, From the Choirgirl Hotel. Both these these pieces of cover art were created with the unconventional technique of using an industrial size photocopier machine, rather than a camera.

Jebb has also contributed to magazines including Purple, Crash, Dazed & Confused [1]

To create the Photocopier pieces Jebb is best known for, she would suction her subjects onto the copy machine and keep them there for the seven minutes each picture would take to print[2]. She has used this technique to create images of several celebrities including Tori Amos and Kylie Minogue [3].

Katerina's "photocopier" pieces involving Tori Amos are featured in the From the Choirgirl Hotel album and tourbook[4]. Katerina also provided the front cover for the UK version of Douglas Coupland's book, Girlfriend in a Coma [5].
