Kateel is a temple town in the Dakshina Kannada district in Karnataka, India, about 29 kilometres away from Mangalore. It is considered a holy city in Hinduism; the deity at the temple in Kateel is Durga Parameshwari.


The holy temple is situated in the middle of the sacred river Nandini amidst panoramic scenes and fascinating greenery. Thousands of devotees visit Kateel everyday to seek blessings from goddess Durga Parameshwari.
