From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kate Voegele is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Bay Village, Ohio. She attends Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Voegele performed at Farm Aid in 2004 and 2005 with Dave Matthews, Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp. She released the EP "Louder Than Words" in February 2005. In July 2004, she was one of three national finalists in the Pantene Pro-Voice Competition, receiving national exposure on MTV.[specify] Her song "Only Fooling Myself" was also featured in an episode of CBS's drama "Clubhouse". Her songwriting contributions, including "Only Fooling Myself" and "I Won't Disagree", received the highest honours from national songwriting organizations.[specify][citation needed]
Voegele's original touring band consisted of Sam Getz on lead guitar, Mike Gould on Drums, Phil Palumbo on bass, and Andrew Sorenson on keyboards. Getz, Gould, and Palumbo left in late 2005 to create their own band, Cactus 12, while Sorenson stayed on as the keyboardist. The band now includes Sorenson, Mark Tobik on bass and saxophone, Patrick O'Donnell on drums, and Voegele's father, Will, on electric guitar.
Voegele opened a show at the House of Blues, Cleveland, Ohio,[specify] for the popular country rock duo of Michelle Branch and Jessica Harp, also known as The Wreckers.
Voegele was officially signed to MySpace Records in October 2006. Her first full album of 12 tracks is set for a release in the spring of 2007.
