Kate Ritchie (born August 14, 1978 in Goulburn, New South Wales) is an Australian actress on the television soap opera Home and Away. She has played the character Sally Fletcher since the series began in 1988 and along with fellow original cast member Ray Meagher, it is the longest continuous role in an Australian television series (19 years in total).

Other than Home and Away, Ritchie has only appeared in a mini-series and an Australian film. She was the child lead Molly in the mini-series Cyclone Tracy in 1986. In 2006 she played Nicole in the ABC film Stepfather of the Bride. She has also done a number of commercials and has been involved with the Campbelltown Musical Society.

On May 7, 2006, Ritchie won the Silver Logie for Most Popular Actress at the 2006 TV Week Logie Awards. This was Ritchie's first nomination after having appeared on the show for 18 years. She was also nominated for the Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television, but lost to John Wood of "Blue Heelers". In 2006, Ritchie was also a contestant on the celebrity singing challenge It Takes Two, partnered with Troy Cassar-Daley.

She lives alone in the eastern suburbs of Sydney after breaking up with her boyfriend, professional rugby league player Chris Walker, in August 2006. [1]

NEWS.com.au reported on 2006-12-06 that Ritchie was planning on leaving Home and Away in 2007. That turned out to be a rumour, as Ritchie herself said she wasn't leaving in Adelaide's TV Guide.[2]

In 2007, Ritchie joined Nova to host the drive show with Akmal Saleh. Her place was originally for Matthew Newton but legal disputes stopped Netwon from joining Nova. The Akmal Show with Kate Ritchie airs on Nova 100 and Nova 96.9 from 4pm to 6pm.
